Q: When was the moment you first knew you were meant to be an entrepreneur?

I had never entertained being an entrepreneur. I really fell into it. I took a chance, and as soon as I did, I realized this entrepreneurial space was where I belonged. I finally found like-minded people who were   supportive and encouraging!

Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced starting your business?

Sales! Sales is really a fine art. My coaches have all played a huge role in teaching me that sales is all about relationships and connection, and genuine ones at that!

Q: What is the biggest “win” you have experienced as an entrepreneur?

I’ve had a series of wins in the past 2 years that have really provided me with a lot of exposure. Each time I’ve been asked to speak has been a huge win for me, as it really validates who I am and what I have to offer. Seeing that my work and my marketing efforts have paid off and are revenue generating has also been a series of wins for me. My biggest win has really been my ability to pivot and take risks…I very recently left my 9-5 – a job I had for 16 years – to pursue my business and build on the momentum I’ve created.

Q: What is the most important piece of advice you would give to others who are starting their own business?

First – Learn about the nitty-gritty of business, sales, and marketing. Your job as an aspiring entrepreneur is to treat it as a new skill that needs to be nurtured. Second – Make connections! Networking is your secret weapon!

Q: What was the biggest key to your success? How do you measure success?

Making connections with people has been paramount for me. Also, offering free services has been very important in my marketing. Finally, showing up on social media is so crucial in business in 2023!

Q: If you could go back in time, is there anything you would change about your entrepreneurial journey?

I would have started it 10 years earlier!
