We are a travel agency; our programs take individual and small group travel in a new direction.

They are for travellers who don’t want to experience what everyone else already has.

They are for the seekers of a truly authentic and sustainable travel experience, for those with a passion for the great outdoors, local culture and heritage, indigenous cuisine, charming hospitality and stimulating arts and architecture.

You can find Trek Nirvana on their website and on Instagram and Facebook.

Q: When was the moment you first knew you were meant to be an entrepreneur?

It all started in 2009 when I first went to The Himalayas on a Multiday Hiking tour. It was a 14-day hiking tour where I crossed as high as 17000ft, snow packed, with a 25kg backpack. That’s where I realized that I belonged to Mother Nature and should become an entrepreneur to protect it. This is the reason all our programs are eco-friendly, handcrafted and tailor made. Our tag line says: May Everyone Prosper!!!!

Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced starting your business?

By profession I am a Computer Engineer and I immigrated with my wife from India in 2015. Getting funds together to take TICO licence to start a travel agency was the biggest challenge. As an immigrant, I had to start from scratch, from finding a job, to a new house and saving money. It was difficult for me to focus on my goal of starting a travel agency and for that I worked extra hours as well. I also went to Business Center Guelph Wellington where I presented my business idea and won the pitch. The prize money was used in getting my dream kickoff.

Q: What is the biggest “win” you have experienced as an entrepreneur?

When my customers call me and say “Guru, I’d like to book this tour with Trek Nirvana, and I have told my friends about this as well.”

Q: What is the most important piece of advice you would give to others who are starting their own business?

Always keep your Intentions right and believe in everyone prosper.

Q: What was the biggest key to your success? How do you measure success?

Inner happiness is success.

Q: If you could go back in time, is there anything you would change about your entrepreneurial journey?

No, to reach your destination you have to cross many paths, rivers, mountains etc. Through patience we learn and through learning we achieve our goals.
